Sarah Watson
Committed. Seasoned. Still climbing.
Professional
Location
Larkspur, CO
Sarah doesn’t coast—she commits, competes, and keeps leveling up.
Raised in New England horse country (CT → North Salem, NY), she grew up showing hard and learning fast. She studied Equine Science and English at the University of Vermont, rode on the ultra-competitive IHSA team, and captained it her senior year—because leadership was always part of the plan.
After time in New Zealand riding with Greg Best, Sarah turned pro 21 years ago and built serious ring mileage riding and teaching for Country Lane Farm and Backcountry Farm with Fred & Christina Schauder and Jill Schulman. She later headed to Washington, DC, where she rode for Stacey Weiss and Kim Stewart, exercised horses for Scott Stewart, and taught alongside Miranda Scott and Kate Rice at Millbrook Stables.
Colorado called in 2008. In 2011, Sarah launched Watson Equestrian Services—now evolved into Fine Print Farm. Today she runs a small, intentional program, develops young sale horses for Plum Creek Hollow, and continues sharpening her edge working with Hope Glynn, Karen McElvy Stone, and Jodi Kennedy.
When she’s not in the tack, you’ll find her hiking with her dogs or snowboarding Colorado’s mountains—same grit, different gear.
